About Me
Nice to meet you, my name is Zhicheng Mao—most people call me Mao. I used to be a competitive fencer, with an eye towards the Olympics. I learned to push and train and persevere through every challenge.
Today, as a Product Designer, I channel that same competitive discipline into designing a variety of products from sporting equipment to electronics and hard goods. I’m driven to solve problems, blending experience and passion, identifying pain points, market research, demographics and understanding what exists today.I turn ideas into physical and digital prototypes, refining structure, adjusting details, resolving form, and exploring CMF. I believe strong design happens at the intersection of research, engineering logic, and material sensitivity, the discipline to imagine better solutions.
